Somewhere in and out of the blurred lines of erotic, edgy and funk lives the sultry world of Jean Morisson.

Born in NYC after a steamy, hot summer to a culturally diverse family, Jean began singing and performing to anything and anyone that would listen, during a time when music was music and Prince was still a revolution.

Armed with a keen sense of words and notes, Jean cultivated her talents, searching for her perfect sound, and came to a blend of edgy Rock, sultry Funk, raw R&B styled with a mix of lyrics forged well within the realms of Sting and Edgar Allen Poe.

Jean Morisson's first band, MorissonPoe, gained notoriety when selected to write 2 songs for Microsoft's XBOX 360 launch title "Perfect Dark Zero" - The soundtrack's producer being the legendary Nile Rodgers.

Nile Rodgers' interest in the band was instantaneous and he quickly signed them to his SUMTHING label and co-produced their debut album entitled "Evolution" immediately after walking in to a sold out show at CBGB's as Jean Morisson poured a pitcher of milk all over her body saying to the audience, "Is it hot in here or is it just me?"

And as the music and touring world became more amazing and chaotic, Jean's romantic life took a tumble into darkness, shifting her artistry into a place she never expected, a direction that would take her out of the underground and on the road to top 40 radio.

With her band members by her side, she decided a more personal direction lyrically, looking within on an introspective story to tell, writing through the eyes of lust and glory, pain and pleasure - songs that would take her to the next level of her career.

Fast forward 2012, her story begins at Act 1 / Scene 2 - a song called "Naughty feat Nile Rodgers," that depicts a time and place where the seduction was everything and the night was hers.

Re-joining forces with Nile Rodgers, long-time songwriting partner / producer and her band, Jean wrote the songs that make up her album in 4 acts entitled, "Beauty In The Breakdown" with musical guests including Vernon Reid (Living Colour), Raymond Angry (The Roots, D'Angelo), Grammy-winning engineer Jason Goldstein and the legendary Bob Clearmountain.

With a thunderous voice, poetically explosive lyrics and a sizzling, virtuoso band, Jean Morisson promises to set radio and stages across the world on fire with her incendiary blend of danceable Pop-Funk with rocked-out Urban flare.
